Hi, I'm Hexin Jiang. I am a musician, singer, skier, and software engineer. I am a responsible team player who takes ownership in his work, and a curious learner who loves to ask questions. I am currently a senior at Haverford College and an accelerated masters candidate at the University of Pennsylvania.
I have experience in full stack web development, including designing interactive web interfaces, developing responsive APIs, and intergrating with databases. I also love building reliable, scalable servers that achieves high performance, security, and maintainability.
I am an expert in Computer Science foundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. In my prior internships, I became experienced with the software development lifecycle. I am proficient in Python, Java, and C/C++, and in areas such as web, API, and backend development.

I developed and designed a RESTful API for the Firm Examination Management web application using Python and Flask. I integrated the API with a PostgreSQL database using SQLAlchemy and performed upgrades to database query strategies. I also programmed robust automated test scripts with Pytest.
I gained experience in engineering advanced AI object detection models using PyTorch and TensorFlow. I learned how to integrate image segmentation models (SAM, FastSAM) to detect objects with more accuracy. I was also involved in prompt engineering on large models to improve accuracy in detecting a specific object in a dataset of images.
I mentored students in Analysis of Algorithms and Intro to Computer Science. I worked closely with professors in grading homework, planning office hours, and evaluating students. Through the process of TAing, I have improved my understanding of algorithms dramatically.
